GEMS DUBAI AMERICAN ACADEMY
The DAA building is roughly 37,000 m² with two-thirds of the occupied space constructed using TermoDeck. By integrating TermoDeck into the design, the total connected load was reduced from 7.4 to 4.9 megawatts. Air quality was measured and all markers scored 97% lower than Dubai Municipality green standards,
UMM AL QURA UNIVERSITY
The TermoDeck installation in Umm Al-Qura University in Mecca, KSA totals a building space of 38,000 m² and functions at optimal air quality and energy consumptions levels year round.
The two-storey hospital occupies 24,000 m² and Termodeck covers almost 1/2, with remaining areas using conventional AC. When higher peak outdoor temperatures occur, summer night-time charging of the slabs benefit from higher chiller coefficients, typically ranging from 3.5 to 4.4 compared with 2.5 during peak daytime temperatures.
This futuristic ±46,000 m² iconic building development consists of three multi-storey blocks (referred to as Bars), sharing a common podium. The building is designed to exploit the benefits of building’s thermal mass to moderate the internal environment. This is achieved by utilizing ‘TermoDeck’ in the hollow-core concrete slabs, which form the floors and ceilings/roofs of the building structure.
The library incorporates 1200 x 260mm of Termodeck precast hollowcore slabs in the ceilings of the rooms surrounding the central atrium. "There are two air-handling with heat recovery units and 50Kw gas-heater batteries. That's just 20 per cent of a more typical 600Kw boiler installation that would normally be used for a building of this size."

Up to 70% of the heating or cooling relies on TermoDeck, monitored by computer sensors in the slabs that direct and increase the flow of fresh air to the rooms by reading CO2 level fluctuations. With the exception of extreme temperatures, the TermoDeck® system uses 100% fresh air, whereas conventional systems can use as little as 10 to 15 %.
