Welcome to the future of HVAC

Cut CapEx & OpEx   -  Reduce Energy Consumption   -  Healthy Indoor Environment

With 435 projects worldwide, the Swedish TermoDeck ™ system is the proven next generation in holistic and integrative HVAC design.

Buildings consumes ~43% of global energy and emit ~35% of greenhouse gases. TermoDeck's innovative HVAC design directly resolves that huge environmental and cost burden.

TermoDeck integrates the HVAC system with the structural concrete slabs to utilize the concrete’s thermal mass to cut both construction and operating costs, reduce power consumption and provide a far healthier indoor environment.

TermoDeck - Benefits

  • Cut both CapEx and OpEx

  • Reduce installed heating / cooling capacity (~40-50% +)

  • Cut power consumption (~25-35% +)

  • Reduce connected electrical load (~20-30%)

  • Speed up construction (easier MEP installation)

  • Simplify HVAC Operations & Maintenance (~50%+ lower cost)

  • Superior occupant comfort and health

  • High LEED/BREEAM points

  • Help achieve net zero

  • Shift power consumption to off-peak (benefits from lower off-peak tariffs and utilities’ incentives for peak-load shifting)

  • Enable a more effective use of renewables (store surplus energy in the slab reducing the need for battery storage)

  • Help positively rebalance the total (embodied+operational) energy of the structure

TermoDeck (Sweden) does not provide contracting services or equipment supply. TermoDeck provides specialist design engineering and site-supervision services.

Eco-Structures International is TermoDeck's partner in N. America and select Middle East markets and can execute projects globally.

Other systems have made claims, but TermoDeck invented this technology and is the original patent holder. TermoDeck has the oldest project in operation (1980) and has earned the market's confidence - with over 435 projects worldwide. TermoDeck has been thoroughly reviewed by academic and technical professionals worldwide for over 40 years, and dubbed "mercifully bulletproof" in a UK government Building Performance Evaluation's Technical report.

You can't go wrong by choosing TermoDeck HVAC.

Why TermoDeck?

The real question is not “Why TermoDeck” but “Why Conventional HVAC design”…

Conventional HVAC will cost you dearly:

HVAC Health &

Future With

Is There Logic in Building For the Future With Conventional HVAC Design?

TermoDeck is the future of HVAC. It is proven, and is available today!

  • Spend ~5-10% more on construction costs.

  • Install up to twice the chiller/boiler capacity.

  • Waste ~10-15% of overall height for false ceilings.

  • Pay more for ~40-50% larger power connection.

  • More complex MEP installation slows down construction.

  • Consume ~35-45% more electricity.

  • Pay more to use electricity at peak power tariff.

  • Spend more on HVAC operations & maintenance.

  • Much more pollution, CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Internal areas are uncomfortable; low fresh air component with mostly recirculated air; drafty; noisy; high bacteria/mold/fungal growth.

  • Lower asset value as electricity costs increase and clients seek higher efficiency/lower running costs.

  • With recognition of the importance of indoor health, property will be less attractive to tenants and investors with every passing year.

Reduced Capital & Operational Expense

Lower CapEx: TermoDeck cuts installed HVAC capacity by 50% (i.e. smaller chillers/boilers), and eliminates fan coil units (FCU's)/chilled-hot water network. TermoDeck also cuts the total electrical load to the grid, reducing connection charges.

Lower OpEx: TermoDeck reduces electricity consumption, and centralizes all maintenance to roof-mounted equipment (i.e. little or no mechanical HVAC equipment inside the building), resulting in a sharply reduced for HVAC-related O&M and electricity consumption.

Reduce Airborne Infections and

PreventSick Building Syndrome

Worldwide, 9 out of 10 people breathe air that doesn’t meet World Health Organization’s (WHO) minimum health standards. TermoDeck® has received awards for exceptional environmental performance, health & safety, and occupant comfort. Our fresh air component is significantly higher and dust and particulates average 69% lower than prevailing standards. Bacteria, mold and fungus have been measured to reach up to 97% lower than prevailing standards.

Decreased Carbon Footprint & Greenhouse Emissions

CO2 emissions are heavily reduced by up to 80% in TermoDeck® buildings, as overall energy consumption significantly when compared to equivalent buildings that use conventional HVAC.

Super Buildings that Warm and Cool by Efficiently Storing Energy Within the Structure

TermoDeck®, developed in Sweden, is a proprietary proven system that takes advantage of the thermal storage capacity of concrete to regulate the internal temperatures and slash the energy required to cool and heat our homes and workplaces. The TermoDeck® system cuts chiller and boiler capacity, as well as the connected electrical load. It eliminates the ducts and false ceilings used in conventional AC systems and stores and circulates the air inside the fabric of the building structures, lowering materials costs and reduces floor-to-floor height, allowing for additional built-up areas or additional floors.

Passive + Active Cooling

TermoDeck® is not a product, but an an innovative, specialized engineering, design and supervision service for new build and select retrofits. TermoDeck® uses precast hollowcore slabs, or embedded ducts within in-situ concrete or post-tension slabs, to store energy (radiant cooling/heating) and act as conduits for supply (ventilation). Cooled/heated, dehumidified and filtered air from the AHUs pass through voids in the building’s slabs overnight, and cooling/heating energy is stored for use when temperatures peak during the day or night.

Uniquely Saves Energy & Cuts Building Costs

TermoDeck® reduces the installed HVAC capacity by ~50%, thus cutting the total connected load to the grid by 20-30%, and reducing electrical connection costs. This reduced load overcomes potential power limitations at the site, and enables the construction of the maximum built-up area. The elimination or reduction of false ceilings cuts materials costs and reduces floor-to-floor height, allowing for additional floors within the specified height limits..

Reduced Peak Load

With the advent of smart meters and time-of-use electricity tariffs, peak prices will continue to increase, while off-peak prices will be cut. Conventional HVAC (double TermoDeck in terms of heating and cooling capacity) will be operating primarily at the peak power prices, while TermoDeck AC (approx. 50% of conventional HVAC capacity) will be operating a majority of its time at higher efficiencies and at off-peak tariffs, reducing both the amount of energy (kWh) consumed and operating under a less costly tariff regime. OpEx savings will increase dramatically.
